Greetings in the name of our unchanging God, the “I am that I am,” who is the triune God in all his glory. I hope that's how your heart feels today … filled with God who is unwavering in his commitment to you today. Praise Him!
Let me remind you of a few things:
- First, we have a thanksgiving meal on Sunday. It's all provided by the church. But if you can bring some of the food items for our Thanksgiving box giveaway, that would be wonderful.
- Second, we also will be having a Day of Giving on Sunday. Why? In one sense, we are behind on our budget and the Lord calls us to give for the sake of the gospel ministry. But, giving is a way to give thanks. Literally many offerings in the Bible were thanks offerings. It's a way to show gratitude as you recognize all that we have is provided by God. Can you give an extra $100. If each of us do, that would make an 15-20K. Let's do this.

Hallmark meets the Christmas Story … I've seen the trailers already and sensed this would be the case. Beloved, be careful with this movie. It misses the point. The point is that the unchanging, sinless God enters into our darkness to die. There's a dragon chasing him. (See Rev 12.) You can't dress it up without losing the offense. You can't “Hollywood” the gospel. Try but you lose it. Be careful with this.
Her Absence … it's the holidays and that can be hard on those grieving the loss of loved ones. Hope that helps.
