Monday Morning Musings!

What a Sunday! No, I'm not talking about the Super Bowl. I'm talking about church. True, revival didn't fall. An awakening did not occur. The walls didn't shake and the wind of the Spirit didn't blow through like at Pentecost. But the church gathered to worship. The Word was preached and sung. Prayers were offered. Scripture was read. And we ordained two new young deacons to serve the people of God. We attacked the gates of hell yesterday. Praise God!
Reminders …
  • Sign-ups are going on right now for our three mission trips: East TN construction trip for disaster relief in March, Restoration Road in Boston in early June, and Lambhill Church in Glasgow, Scotland in early July. Sign up as soon as you can or just let me know in writing somehow.
  • This year we are doing an Easter Block Party Outreach thingy on April 19th, the Saturday before Easter. Be in prayer and be prepared to help us connect with our community. More info to come.
Here's Some links for the strengthening of your faith …
Ten Takeaways from the Life of Jim Shaddix … I knew Dr. Shaddix vaguely and he taught some things in my seminary days. He will be sorely missed. I share this because this is the kind of man I want to be.
A Church Discipline Primer … it's a practice in sore need of recovery. What do you think?
Answering Kid's Hardest Questions … won't God accept me for my good works? This is a good series for parents.
Feast from the Word … Fast from the world. Sometimes we emphasize the first. But have we forgotten about the second part?
Dumb Will Do … Satan doesn't need heresy. Great points here about worship.
