Grace and peace to you all. Yesterday was such a good day. The Lord seemed to be with us in a profound way. I could hear your voices singing. We had a 95 year old woman join our church. I hear the sermon was OK. 🙂 And then, after the service, we had a good Parent-Luncheon with Rob Burdette about family discipleship and other challenges we face as parents. It was a good day. [Even though I forgot to mention our Veteran's Day. My bad on that one.]
A few reminders:
- November 24th is our Thanksgiving meal after the service, an evening community service with light supper at 5pm, and our Day of Giving. It's gonna be a great day.
- Get your Operation Christmas Child boxes turned in. The deadline is the 24th.
- Yesterday I mentioned a men's deep discipleship group in January meeting on Sunday evenings. Here's a little more info: it will require some work, and prayer, and reading. We will do a lot of Bible study, reading, discussing, and more. Make sure you realize that there is work to do outside of our group time. But it will be worth it.
- Invite someone to church this week!

John Paton and the Bible for the Natives … watch that 3 minute clip. This is why we do missions. This is why we translated those Scriptures. And if you want to read one of the best missionary biographies, check out the one on John Paton called The King of the Cannibals.

I will sign off with this salute to our veterans. So much truth here:
