Monday Morning Musings

Blessings! Grace and peace to you all. I am so thankful today, being able to preach yesterday. It is such a joy to shepherd you guys, by the Word, which is the primary way a pastor shepherds his flock. It's not just that I enjoy preaching to you. It's how I care for you … the primary way. It's a big deal. And you can read all about that in 1-2 Timothy. [Hmm. Sounds like a good future newsletter article.] Anyway, I digress. I am thankful today for yesterday. We worshiped together. We celebrated the Lord's Table together. We prayed together. Praise the Lord! Here's a few reminders:
  • “A Praying Life.” Don't you want a praying life? Come to our seminar on August 16-17th for this practical workshop on how to pray well. The window is closing for you to sign up. It's only $23 for a Friday night and Saturday morning. Here's the link to register.
  • This Wednesday night I will start my study on the End-Times. It's not a deep dive into the book of Revelation but an overview of the End-Times. We will meet on the 3rd floor, first room on the left, at 6:30-8pm.
Here's some links:
How Prayer Attacks Insecurity … and most of us have insecurities.
How Your Smartphone May Be Hindering You Spiritually … not only do smartphones make us more anxious, they also numb us to eternal things, to discipleship. This is not good.
Olympic Gold with Eric Liddell … he won the race that really mattered. I can't remember if I've already shared this but Eric is a hero of the faith.
Can We Pray That God Would Teach Someone a Lesson … just good practical stuff right here. And based on the answer, you can see why knowing your Bible matters.
