Grace and peace to you all! It's been a minute. I know. Sorry about that. I've been out of pocket, quite a bit, this summer. And as we head to the home stretch, right before school starts back, there's no more traveling. Let's just say, it's good to be back and I can't wait to be back with you on Sunday. I did hear that Jason and KC did a great job in my place and all went well. We are so blessed to have faithful brothers who can fill our pulpit. I thank God for his mercies for sure. And I can't wait to proclaim the excellencies of our great Savior from Psalm 23 over the next three weeks.
Our trip to Scotland was wonderful, edifying, and, as best as we can tell, helpful to them. I hope to share a bit of that on Sunday. Thanks for letting us get away to serve the body of Christ and praying for us.
Here's a few things to keep in mind …
- Can you help out this Thursday with our YMCA food-giveaway? If you have some time, and don't mind a little heat, we'd love to have you.
- I haven't been able to say this but our 4th of July picnic was fantastic. Thanks to all who served to make it so. We had so many visitors. The food was great, the corn-hole competitive, the fireworks glorious, and the fun was abundant.
- On August 3rd we will have a SS/fellowship breakfast from 8:45-9:15. We will also be promoting our kids and youth into their next SS class. [Note: there's no CentriKid fundraiser that day.]
- Men's breakfast is this Sunday at 7:30. Join us and, father's, bring your boys as well.
Also, take note of our upcoming Wednesday night studies …
- Rest of July — our continued look at heaven, our future home.
- August — how do I know what God's will for me is? How do I make decisions?
- September & October — “Missionary” … a look at six missionaries and our role in taking the gospel around the world.

“To please God … to be a real ingredient in the divine happiness … to be loved by God, not merely pitied, but delighted in as an artist delights in his work or a father in a son – it seems impossible, a weight or burden of glory which our thoughts can hardly sustain. But so it is.”
