Monday Morning Musings

Good morning. So thankful for Josh Couts filling in yesterday and preaching Christ to us. I couldn't be there due to my voice but did watch online. Let's love and adore Christ all the more as we see the day drawing near.
  • July 4th … food and fireworks and fun. Bring an unchurched friend! Starts at 6pm.
  • July 7th … the Walker's last day with us. We will have an ordination service for him and then a potluck meal afterward. Don't miss it.
  • July 19-20VBS. Invite a kid and sign up to help.
  • Sometime in July, Lord willing, when my voice is healthy, I will start our study on the end times (or eschatology) on Wednesday nights.
  • Senior luncheon this Wednesday at Longhorn — 11:30am.
Here's some links:
Persecution in Nigeria … pray for the persecuted church. May their example stir us to take up our cross.
Marriage … it's more than just personal. It's not just about you and your spouse.
Why Join a Local Church? … it's a little long but great points about what church membership is all about.
The Most Dangerous Thing a Christian Can Do … and it has to do with church (or the lack thereof).
Willie Mays and Hank Aaron … and I know the guy who wrote this article. And yes, we are all from Alabama. 🙂
