Easter Monday Morning Musings

Grace and Peace to you all! He is risen! And he is glorious. And he is worthy. I pray your Easter was filled with Christ yesterday and that today you will face the world with the unique strength that only he can give. And what a great way to celebrate Easter … with two baptisms yesterday. I also want to say a “thank you” to all of you for your prayers and messages to me and my family as we grieve the loss of my dad. I will miss him greatly but if Jesus is risen, I can say that my dad is “risen indeed” as well.
A few things …
  • Today I will know the final arrangements for Kay Jones' funeral and we will let you all know. We've lost many long-time members this year and Kay is just one more of those who leave behind years of faithfulness to our church. Please be in prayer for her family and for our church. But he has risen!
  • Potluck dinner this coming Sunday. We've had a few fundraisers this year, but not an official potluck. Bring your favorite dish. And mine too. 🙂 Make sure you stick around and eat this meal with others.
  • The Women's Spring Tea is this Saturday at 10am.
Some links …
He Welcomed Her Worship … this was actually due on Wednesday of last week, but it's a great point about our worship.
Look to Jesus … your sorrow-bearer. Another article a little bit late, but helpful.
Does God Accept People Because They Are Good? … no! I made this clear at my dad's funeral. He was a good man. But only Jesus saves.
We All Have to Answer for the Resurrection … it actually happened and you just can't ignore that.
Can You Spot a False Cultural Narrative? … it's a good question and answering is important. How do you understand the world in light of the Scriptures.
